Lafayette-based PHI is reported to be in discussions with both Airbus and Leonardo for possible H175 and AW189 buys as it looks beyond the life of its S-92 fleet. While the Sikorsky fleet is moving towards the close of its planned life, recent concerns about the continuity of spares supplies for the twin-engine heavy had brought plans for its replacement into sharp relief. At the same time, the company is moving towards the introduction of its H160 fleet to the Gulf of Mexico following that type’s FAA certification.
