Nova Systems has been awarded a contract by Bristow Ireland Limited as the mission system integrator for the six AW189s for the Irish Coast Guard SAR contract. The project will be carried out at Nova Systems EASA Part 21 facility at Shannon, where the company said it will “provide a bespoke solution to meet the demanding SAR mission requirements”.

The new contract builds on the relationship Nova Systems established with Bristow Group on the SAR2G programme for the UK Coastguard and the Netherlands Antilles Kustwacht contract for a total of 26 aircraft.

Commenting on the announcement, Gareth Dyer, Managing Director International for Nova Systems, said the Irish SAR contract will ensure accelerated capability, improvements and longevity of vital lifesaving search and rescue aviation services. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Bristow Group to deliver a world-class mission system that supports the critical life-saving work of the Irish SAR operators. Our team includes experienced mission systems operators, who have flown extensively in the Airborne Parapublic environment, and who are an integral part of our design and testing process. We look forward to delivering on this contract and supporting the vital work of the Irish search and rescue teams.”
