Leonardo is expanding its presence in the energy support market and Latin America following its recent order from Omni Helicopters International (OHI) for two AW189s and one AW189K, powered by General Electric engines and Safran engines, respectively.
The contract marks the entry of the AW189K variant into the Latin America market and follows OHI’s significant fleet expansion, acquiring eight AW139 intermediate twins and two AW189 super medium helicopters since 2021.
