The end of the old year also marked the end of an era at Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT) with the retirement of its MD902 Explorer. The aircraft has been in service with the charity at its Earls Colne base since 2017 and, in that time, has conducted over 4,800 flight hours on more than 3,000 missions. The aircraft’s life of service has not yet concluded, having left the east of England, it is heading for an Austrian operator to carry out mountain rescue operations.
