Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC), which provides HEMS services to the English counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and West Midlands, has signed a new 10-year contract with Babcock for the provision of aviation services. Babcock currently operates the charity’s three H135s and provides ground support, engineering and pilot resources.
The latest contract continues a relationship that goes back some 33 years and the launch of the charity. Under the terms of the new agreement, Babcock will continue to operate 24/7 operations from three bases at Cosford, Strensham and Tatenhill.
Speaking about the contract, Chloe Barker, Managing Director of Babcock’s UK aviation business, said: “The invaluable work that MAAC delivers to local communities helps save thousands of lives every year. Babcock has been supporting the charity since its inception, and we are proud of our role in helping to deliver essential helicopter emergency medical services across the region. We’re delighted to be extending our long-standing partnership and further enhancing the service as we look to the future together.”
