The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) will end its 30-year title sponsorship of LifeFlight Rescue at the end of June. This follows the Queensland State Government’s announcement of AU$586 million in funding over the next 10 years. Commenting on the announcement, LifeFlight Australia’s CEO Ashley van de Velde OAM thanked RACQ for its dedication to the network over the past 30 years.
“We are incredibly grateful to RACQ for its unwavering support and a shared commitment to save lives. The partnership with RACQ has enabled LifeFlight to help more than 81,000 people. It’s an incredible milestone few companies can claim and is testament to the strength, leadership and dedication of two leading Queensland organisations to support communities 24/7 and provide outstanding aeromedical care. While it’s the end of an era as our naming rights sponsor, we are continuing to explore new partnership opportunities with RACQ, which could see continued investment and support for Queensland communities.”
Meanwhile, RACQ Group CEO David Carter spoke of his pride in the legacy RACQ had built with the life-saving organisation. “RACQ and LifeFlight have always shared a vision and commitment to help Queenslanders in times of need by ensuring access to the very best medical service.”
