CHC has submitted a challenge to the Irish High Court questioning the validity of the tender process for the Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) Search and Rescue Aviation Contract. The essence of the challenge is that there were flaws in the conduct of the tender process, which named Bristow as the IRCG’s preferred bidder at the end of last month. CHC said that given the strict time limits for challenges imposed by Irish law, it has expedited the challenge.

Explaining the reasons behind the challenge, Rob Tatten, CHC Director of Operations and Accountable Manager, Ireland, said: “We firmly believe the tender we submitted represents the best outcome for the Irish Coast Guard, the staff who provide the service, and the people who rely on it. This is consistent with our philosophy of putting people at the forefront of everything, as we have done for the past 20-plus years.”
