The 10th of 12 Sikorsky S070i Firehawks has been delivered to the Cal Fire Aviation Management Unit. The aircraft will based at Beiber in the northeast of the state. The delivery is part of Cal Fire’s USD270 million fleet renewal programme which sees it’s Vietnam era UH-1s replaced with S-70s. Of the remaining two aircraft in the order one is on the assembly line at Sikorsky while the other is undergoing firefighting fit out at United Rotorcraft.
