Archer Aviation has announced that it has concluded contracts with the United States Air Force (USAF) which include up to six of its Midnight eVTOLs. In addition to the aircraft, the contracts also include the sharing of additional flight test data and certification-related test reports, pilot training, and the development of maintenance and repair operations.

In its announcement, Archer said that cumulatively the contract package is worth “up to US$142m” but does not clarify how this is broken down between the cost of aircraft and ancillary services. Nor does the announcement define how the aircraft order is split between firm orders and options.
