Nashville Police’s Aviation Unit has taken delivery of the first of two H125s from Airbus. The aircraft is part of an order announced during Heli Expo 22. The besides the new aircraft the Unit operates two MD500Es, a single OH-6 and four OH-58s. The latter five aircraft operated on Public Aircraft Operations certification having been transferred from the US armed forces before being retrofitted for Police work.
The new aircraft’s tail number N849NP was selected because 849 was the badge number of Officer Eric Mumaw who gave his life in the service of city in February of 2017.
