Loft Dynamics has announced a partnership with Air Greenland, which will see the company deliver one of its VR simulators to Greenland. The simulator, based on an Airbus H125, will be the seventh EASA-certified device delivered since the FTD Level 3 approval was granted in May of this year.

Air Greenland, which besides H125s, also operates H145s and 225s, will use the simulator for a variety of training exercises as well as licence and proficiency checks. Allowing the company to forgo having pilots travel overseas to train in full flight simulators with the associated travel, accommodation and environmental costs.

Commenting on the announcement, Air Greenland CFI (H125) said, “Loft’s simulator will be instrumental in carrying out our ‘spring refresher’ training, which encompasses operator and licence proficiency checks and enhanced procedure and safety training. It gives our crew access to the most comprehensive and realistic training opportunities – from standard operating procedures to emergency situations unique to our surroundings. The device is incredibly cost-effective compared to traditional simulators, and it also helps us to reduce carbon emissions.”

“Remote locations, like Nuuk, require reliable systems to operate pilot training devices. So our team built the system from the ground up, allowing us to conduct software maintenance and provide support anywhere in the world from our headquarters in Switzerland. Meanwhile, local crews gain valuable, hands-on access to the onsite simulator without ever leaving the country,” added Fabi Riesen, CEO and Founder of Loft Dynamics.
