In its third-quarter results announcement, Leonardo Helicopters reported a “positive commercial performance in line with expectations”. While new order announcements for the first nine months are down by 9.6% to €4.1 billion, the company said that the underlying positive sales trend is masked by the stand-out order for 32 AW149s by the Polish Ministry of Defence in July of 2022, which distorted the year-on-year trend.
The company’s revenues and profitability enjoyed an uptick year on year thanks to a significant increase in new aircraft delivery rates, up by 33 aircraft compared with the same period last year and the benefit of “a more favourable mix of activities carried out during the period”.
