Genesys Aerosystems is working with aircraft modernisation and upgrade specialist XP Services to add the Lima model UH-60 to the existing Alpha model STC, which allows the installation of the Genesys Avionics Suite.

The Genesys Avionics Suite provides a fully modernised EFIS upgrade using IDU-680 smart displays, replacing all standard analogue gauges. Each IDU-680 features synthetic vision (SVS), a built-in Flight Management System (FMS) for both navigation and communication radios, a Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS), geo-referenced hover vector, and an interface to special mission systems using Genesys’s patented Open Architecture System Integration Symbology (OASIS™) toolset. The dual GPS/SBAS navigation system supports all NexGen procedures, USCG search and rescue patterns, and user-defined precision approaches. All engine instruments and master caution lights are replaced with quadruple redundant Engine Indication and Crew Alerting System (EICAS) display pages. The suite also replaces legacy gyros with a digital Attitude/Heading Reference System (AHRS). In addition, the suite will interface with GE-701D engines.

“As the US Army releases more Lima models for civilian or foreign military use, Genesys wants to ensure operators are able to utilise fully modernised Black Hawks with a better return on their investment while increasing the aircraft’s operational life and mission effectiveness,” said Jamie Luster, Genesys Aerosystems Director of Sales and Marketing.

STC completion is planned for late 2024. Seaview Aviation will supply the first two UH-60L aircraft for its contract deliveries to an undisclosed Australian customer.
