Delaware State Police (DSP), which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, has placed an order with Bell for two 429s. In addition to law enforcement work, the two aircraft will also be capable of carrying out EMS and SAR missions. The order will bring the DSP 429 fleet to three aircraft.

“DSP greatly values our long-standing relationship with Bell, and we are most proud of our 429 aircraft. The citizens and visitors of our State rely on us to transport critically sick and injured patients and locate the missing and the lost while providing aerial support for police-related missions. In turn, we rely on Bell to provide us with top-tier equipment and helicopters to fulfil this role. Bell answers this call time and time again,” said Captain Jeff Whitmarsh, Aviation Unit Commander, DSP.

The 429 is gaining significant traction within law enforcement operations as well as those in EMS, oil & gas, utility, and corporate operations, especially those operators who require multi-mission capability. It delivers exceptional speed, range and hover performance in a single-pilot IFR helicopter. Doubtless, a message the company will be promoting to delegates later this month at EUROPEAN ROTORS in Madrid.
