Entrol has sold one of its H19 Flight Training Devices (FTDs) based on a Leonardo AW109 to Japan’s Alpha Aviation, regarded as the country’s leading flight training academy for the past 20 years.

The simulator will be equipped with the latest Entrol technology, including a cylindrical visual system, an enclosed IOS, and a debriefing station so that the instructors can record the activities in the simulator and analyse them later.

Additionally, the simulator will also be equipped with a high-definition visual database covering the local area used by Alpha Aviation operations as well as other visual landmarks. The simulator, which is due for installation over the summer, is the second one that Entrol has supplied to Alpha following on from an Airbus H125-based H05 simulator certified by the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) in March.

Commenting on the announcement, Alpha Aviation’s Vice President Kenji Saito said: “We have decided to order the AW109 FTD device because Entrol is a reliable manufacturing company that responds accurately and quickly.
