ADAC H145 arriving in Schleswig Holstein

ADAC will offer coverage in 15 German States when it’s 38th base opens in Schleswig Holstien

HEMS and rescue service provider ADAC Luftrettung will add its 38th base when it opens a new facility at Hohenlockstedt Airfield in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein in July. As the result of an EU-wide tender by the state’s Ministry of Justice and Health, ADAC has been awarded a contract to deliver HEMS and intensive care patient transfers until 2044. The terms of the contract will see an H145 on standby between sunrise (or 07:00, whichever is later) and sunset, although there may be provision for hoist and night operation in the future.

This latest award means that ADAC is now operational in 15 of Germany’s 16 states, which ADAC Managing Director Frédéric Bruder underlined when speaking about the award: “We can guarantee the people of Schleswig-Holstein reliable operational readiness in emergencies. We’re there when it counts.”
