Simon Barton has joined the v2track team as the Business Development Manager. Barton comes to v2track with a wealth of experience, having spent most of his working life immersed in helicopter rescue and firefighting operations. His knowledge of integrated air and ground operations is extensive.
“I’m excited to be working with the v2track team. They are well known for their quality platform and products, great pricing, and their customer support is second to none,” Barton said.
Barton’s working career started in the NZ Navy and progressed to rescue helicopters. He was the Director of Operations with the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust and the Helicopter Rescue Crew Trainer with the Philips Search and Rescue Trust – teaching crewing and winching skills. He was also instrumental in setting up the Childflight NZ Trust around that time.
In recent years, Barton has had a sales role with a New Zealand-based tracking company and was the National Air Advisor for the St John Ambulance Air Desk. In addition to airborne operations, his passion is firefighting, and he has been a volunteer fireman for over a decade. He is currently a Lieutenant in the Buninyong Mt Helen Fire Brigade, combating fires in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
