The 100,000-hour mark is a milestone for any helicopter operator – even more so when it’s for a single type – but that’s the total the Swiss Air Force has surpassed with its H135 fleet. Since 2010, the 20-strong Swiss AF H135 fleet has wracked up the hours carrying out a range of missions, including SAR, patient transport, flight training and border patrols from bases in Alpnach, Bern-Belp, Dübendorf, Locarno and Payerne, year-round in challenging mountain and weather conditions.
