Spidertracks has announced a strategic partnership with Black Widow Helicopters on Black Widow’s UH-60 and UH-1 nose-to-tail modernisation programme. Black Widow targets older systems and airframes that are nearing obsolescence, too costly to maintain, and lacking the functionality required to fit into an ever-evolving airspace structure or mission requirements. It focuses on solid aircraft with many cycles remaining on the airframe and engines and performance that is in line with newer aircraft, resulting in an alternate offering at a considerable saving.

The partnership between Spidertracks and Black Widow Helicopters will see every modernised Black Widow UH60A/L Black Hawk rebuild fitted with the Spidertracks flagship hardware, Spider X. This innovative piece of hardware developed by the Spidertracks team is packed with forward-thinking tech which delivers high-fidelity AHRS and other flight data, enabling aircraft owners and operators to see where, and more importantly, how their aircraft are flying.

Commenting on the announcement Black Widow Head of Corporate Development, Todd Dunphy said: “We are very excited to embark on this journey with Spidertracks. Their robust and reliable track record was what drew us to them. We are confident that with their cutting-edge safety technology, our partnership will be long and successful.”
