Overair and its partner Hanwha Systems have announced three new partnerships with key Korean partners to accelerate advanced air mobility (AAM) in the region.

The partnerships include a letter of intent (LOI) for the purchase of 20 Butterfly aircraft signed with HeliKorea for medical, executive, cargo transport, firefighting and high-voltage power line inspection; a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Daewoo E&C for the development of urban air traffic management (UATM) systems and the selection of local vertiport operators and sites, as well as a framework for AAM; and another MOU with the Korean Police, which aims to integrate AAM within the agency.

“Overair is committed to supporting South Korea’s strong AAM ambitions through partnerships like these that ensure all facets of the ecosystem are considered,” said Ben Tigner, CEO, Overair. “Local governments, operators and infrastructure providers alike will play an integral role as we enter this new era of transportation.”

“Overair is a company with global ambitions,” added Tigner, “announcing these agreements at Seoul ADEX 2023 not only shows the importance of these partnerships in Korea but also exemplifies our commitment to supporting all aspects of AAM worldwide.”
