Nakanihon Air has taken delivery of a new H39 FTD Level 5 simulator, based on the Leonardo AW139 helicopter, from Spanish flight simulation specialist Entrol.

The device has been installed at the Japanese operator’s training facilities in Nagoya. This is the first Entrol simulator to be installed in Japan.

The H39 features a glass cockpit based on Honeywell’s Primus Epic avionics system. According to Entrol, “it also possesses a six-TV visual system where pilots can fly through the worldwide terrain scenery and the customised Japanese airport database included in the simulator”.

It is equipped with the latest Entrol technology, such as a control loading system with digital motors and the company’s own sensing board technology.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the simulator was installed by personnel from Japanese company Intercraft. “This has been possible thanks to the straightforward installation of Entrol simulators and the training given remotely to their support team,” Entrol noted.
