The Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe (LPR), the Polish medical air rescue service has revealed that it’s 27 strong fleet of Airbus H135s has topped a cumulative 100,000 hours. The fleet serves the nation operating from 21 bases across the country. Established in 2000 as a department of the Ministry of Health, the service quickly found that the Mil-2 equipment it inherited from its predecessor would not meet the demands of the modern HEMS environment and moved to the Airbus offering.  According to the LPR its teams are dispatched on more than 8,000 missions annually, around 70% of which are HEMS flights.
