HeliSpeed Academy has taken delivery of a new Cabri G2 from Guimbal of France. The two-seat light helicopter features a glass cockpit and underslung hook system.

The Cabri G2 helicopter, renowned for its manoeuvrability, stability and advanced technology, represents a significant step forward in Blackpool-based HeliSpeed Academy’s training capabilities. The incorporation of a totally new glass cockpit enhances the training experience for pilots by offering a more intuitive, informative and streamlined interface, allowing for enhanced situational awareness and precise flight control. This is an ideal platform to learn the skills required by today’s modern third-generation aircraft.

Furthermore, the addition of a hook system to the Cabri G2 expands HeliSpeed’s training opportunities, catering to a wide range of aviation needs. This versatile hook system allows for specialised training in external load operations, such as underslung-load operations, firefighting and cargo lifting.

Commenting on the delivery, HeliSpeed CEO Geoff Packer said: “We are thrilled to introduce the G2 Cabri helicopter with its advanced third-generation glass cockpit and hook system to our training fleet. As demand for glass-cockpit-skilled helicopter pilots continues to rise, we remain dedicated to equipping our students with the latest technology, hands-on skills and training experiences they need to excel in their careers. This addition reaffirms our commitment to fostering excellence and safety within the aviation community.”
