CHC subsidiary Heli-One has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus, which will see Heli-One become the gearbox maintenance provider should the H175M be the winning bid in the UK Ministry of Defence’s New Medium Helicopter (NMH) contest. The MoD NMH project will select the replacement for a number of aircraft across the Army Air Corps and Royal Air Force fleets – the bulk of which will be the RAF’s Puma HC2 fleet. Heli-One has provided embedded maintenance support to the RAF Puma fleet for a number of years, with two staff stationed at RAF Benson in South Oxfordshire.

Speaking about the MoU, Carolyn Forsyth, General Manager of Sales, Commercial & Customer Support, said: “Heli-One is proud to support Airbus, with whom we have enjoyed a close and successful relationship for several decades now. Together with our sister company, CHC Helicopter, we bring unparalleled experience in operating and supporting the civil H175 helicopter in challenging environments, and are exceptionally well placed to enhance the reliability and performance of the new, modern and versatile H175M for NMH.”
