Safran Helicopter Engines and Saab have renewed their agreement to support Arrius 2K2 engines powering the Leonardo AW109 operated by the Swedish Armed Forces. This Support-By-the-Hour (SBH) contract formalises a nine-year MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) and service agreement supporting a total of 45 engines.

This contract will be managed by Safran Helicopter Engines Germany GmbH, which supports more than 300 operators flying in Germany, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia, with more than 2,000 engines.

“To ensure the operational availability of these helicopters, Saab has had an exclusive agreement with the Swedish Armed Forces since 2012, and this agreement is an important part of Saab’s continued commitment as a long-term support partner to the Helikopter 15 program,” says Ellen Molin, Vice President and Deputy Head of Saab’s Aeronautics business area.

Francis Larribau, Safran Helicopter Engines Germany CEO, said: “We are proud that Saab renewed its confidence in Safran Helicopter Engines and its SBH support contract to support Swedish Armed Forces. We look forward to delivering them world-class services and supporting them in their most demanding missions.”
