Enstrom has announced an order for four 280FX helicopters from the Peruvian Ministry of Defence. The four aircraft, which are bound for flight training, are to be shared equally between the country’s Army and Air Force. The four new aircraft will be the latest version of the 280FX, boasting Aspen Avionics EFIS systems, Garmin avionics, and turbocharged 225 hp Lycoming engines.

While the Peruvian Army is a longstanding customer of the company, the Air Force is a more recent client, taking delivery of its first aircraft in 2020.

“We’ve supplied the Peruvian Army with training helicopters since the 1990s,” said Dennis Martin, Enstrom’s Chief Commercial Officer. “We’re proud to remain a trusted partner in helping train yet another generation of pilots. They put our helicopters through a highly competitive evaluation,” said Martin. “Ultimately, Enstrom’s 280FX performed the best in Peru’s demanding hot and high-altitude environment.”

Panamerican Aviation Sales Corporation (PASC) assisted in facilitating the sale. The company has a long history of sales in South America, but this is the first time it has partnered with Enstrom. Commenting on the order, David Rojas, CEO of Panamerican, added, “We are delighted to grow and develop this new, exciting partnership. We plan to introduce Enstrom to many more customers.” Photo: Enstrom
