Airbus Helicopters has concluded the first phase of the DisruptiveLab flight test programme. Over a series of 14 flights of the flying laboratory, the programme has succeeded in expanding the aircraft’s operating envelope to include operations at both maximum weight and airspeed.

The company said the data from the first phase will now be used as a tool for the second and subsequent testing, which ultimately aims to demonstrate the ability to reduce CO2 emissions in future production designs by 50% compared with current aircraft.
