Universal Vulkaan Aviation (UVA), an authorised distributor for Leonardo in the Indian civil helicopter market, has signed a contract for two AW169s to be used for VIP and corporate transport. The deal was agreed at EBACE 2025 but is part of a larger framework agreement formed in 2024, under which UVA signed to acquire 10 Leonardo aircraft over three years. UVA also signed preliminary sales contracts for five AW09s.
Leonardo already has a strong position in the Indian offshore helicopter market, but is expanding further into the VIP transportation segment with deals like this one.
