Bell Textron has appointed Universal Helicopters Inc (UHI) as its first Bell 505 dealer in the United States, with an authorised territory of Arizona and Utah.

UHI was already the only Bell Certified Training Facility in the US. Since 2019, it has been providing Bell-approved initial and recurrent training on the 206, and earlier this year it began collaborating with the manufacturer on training for the 505.

“Deepening our collaboration with Universal Helicopters and naming them our first dealership in the United States is an important step as we continue to see growth for the Bell 505 around the world,” said Lane Evans, the OEM’s director, 505 sales. “While Universal Helicopters is based in the United States and our first Bell 505 dealership in country, their customer reach will play an important role in continuing interest for the Bell 505 and supporting the increasing need for future operator training.”

“We are proud and honoured to be the first Bell dealer in the US for Bell’s state-of-the-art 505,” stated UHI’s president, Gordon Jiroux. “The Bell 505 is the perfect entry-level helicopter for those wanting a more stable platform with all of today’s technological upgrades.”
