Trakka Systems has announced the delivery and installation of two Total Mission Solutions for the Tucson Police Air Support Unit. The Tucson Police Department (TPD), established in 1972, operates a fleet of three Bell 206 helicopters to patrol and secure the city of Tucson, Arizona. According to Trakka, the two newly equipped aircraft will now “benefit from Trakka’s cutting-edge technology, empowering officers with a comprehensive suite of airborne patrol capabilities to strengthen situational awareness and streamline operations”.

Each Trakka Total Mission Solution deployed by the Tucson PD Air Support Unit includes a TrakkaCam TC-300: A gyro-stabilised, compact EO/IR imaging system providing high-definition video and thermal imagery for superior day and night surveillance, TrakkaBeam TLX: A high-intensity xenon searchlight offering powerful illumination for nighttime operations, search and rescue missions, and traffic stops and, finally, TrakkaMaps TM-100: A mission mapping and video management system that integrates TrakkaCam and TrakkaBeam, allowing for real-time data overlay on maps, simplified flight path planning, and streamlined evidence management.

“I am thrilled Tucson PD is utilising our equipment for public safety operations,” said Mike Kipphorn, Trakka Systems’ Director of Sales Western Region. “The adoption of the Trakka Total Solution will undoubtedly enhance their technological capabilities and contribute to improved safety for the people of Tucson.”
