TRU Simulation has received FAA certification for its Veris Virtual Reality (VR) Flight Simulator. The Level 7 flight training device (FTD) is also compliant with EASA Level 3 standard, and the company expects to receive that qualification later this year.

Announced at VERTICON last year TRU says that Veris is a clean sheet design which has allowed it to focus on efficiency, combining the features of an FFS with immersive virtual reality technology.

“At TRU Simulation, our mission is to empower pilots and training providers with the most advanced and accessible tools available,” said Jerry Messaris, vice president and general manager, TRU Simulation. “The Veris delivers cutting-edge, cost-effective flight training through a compact VR platform – revolutionizing how pilots train across business aviation, rotorcraft and military markets.”
Bell Training Academy (BTA) is the launch customer and the first application will be for training on the Bell 505 a capability that will doubtless be part of the Bell’s bid for the US Army Flight School Next programme.
“Being the launch customer for the Veris for the Bell 505 is an honor for the Bell Training Academy,” said Chad Sparks, general manager, Bell Training Academy. “We are dedicated to providing the most advanced and comprehensive training solutions, and the Veris will greatly enhance the realism and effectiveness of our programs. We celebrate this milestone with TRU Simulation and look forward to continuing our collaboration to keep our customers on their missions.”

Sign agreement for second Level D AW139 simulator with Coptersafety

In addition, to the FAA announcement, TRU Simulation signed an agreement for a new AW139 Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for Coptersafety’s Helsinki International Airport facility. The new simulator will be similar to the first TRU built AW139 simulator already in operation in Helsinki,  with a vast number of mission features including advanced avionics, realistic flight dynamics and high-fidelity visual systems that replicate operational environments.

“I’m happy to announce that Coptersafety has been able to secure this additional capability to its growing fleet of simulators,” said Toni Rönnberg, Coptersafety COO. “This is to ensure we can continue serving the growing demand of our customers with the best quality of training.”

“We’re pleased to continue supporting Coptersafety’s training programs with another AW139 simulator, designed to meet the highest level of qualification,” added Vance Ontjes, director, sales and customer service, TRU Simulation. “This next-generation device reflects our commitment to advancing pilot readiness through immersive and realistic simulation that is tailored to Coptersafety’s specific needs.”
