SPAES has completed a glass cockpit upgrade to six BO105s operated by the Indonesian Police Service. Much of the existing analogue instrumentation was removed and replaced with a Garmin G500 suite on an existing STC which also allowed the installation of Garmin GTN 650/750, GTX 335R, GMA 350, GRA 55 RAD-ALT, GTS 800, GSR56H and for L3 ESI-500 to complete the upgrade. The new suite will allow crews to execute a wider range of missions and significantly improving situational awareness. While the documentation and supervision of the project was handled from SPAES headquarters in Karlsruhe the installation, commissioning and troubleshooting was completed in Jakarta at PT Indonesia Defence Services maintenance facility.

In addition, SPAES has delivered Garmin specific training to 20 pilots and 10 engineers from the Service. The programme is expected to continue with the glass cockpit conversions on a further six B0105s
