Airbus Helicopters has completed deliveries of three H135s to SAF Group for emergency medical services (EMS) operations in France, the company announced on 3 May.
The first aircraft is currently in service in Toulouse while the second and third helicopters will be deployed for EMS missions in Alençon and Besançon.
SAF Hélicoptères operates seven days a week carrying out civilian rescue and protection operations, alongside safety services with a fleet of 40 Airbus helicopters including 27 EC135s.
The H135 features increased flight performance in hot and high environments, at sea level, during CAT A missions and in One Engine Inoperative situations. This was attained by enlarging the rotor, modifying the air intake, modernising the Full Authority Digital Engine Control software and integrating new features to the cockpit. The aircraft’s maximum take-off weight has been increased by 30kg to 2,980kg. These measures enhance flight performance, power reserves and safety margins.
