Trakka Systems has delivered a Total Mission Solutions Package for California’s Pomona Police Department, fitted to the law enforcement department’s MD500E. Trakka’s surveillance package consists of the TrakkaCam TC-300 EO/IR, a gyro-stabilised, compact multi-sensor surveillance camera, the sophisticated multispectral TrakkaBeam TLX Searchlight, and TrakkaMaps TM-100 Moving Maps and Video Management System.
The Pomona Police Department’s MD-500E helicopter assists ground units in performing routine patrols, surveillance missions, search and rescue, counter-terrorism patrols, searches, transports, speed enforcement, vehicle pursuits, and command and control for emergency incidents.
“This system is epic. Clear video, rapid mapping system with tons of easily used features. The system is amazing. I love it, my crew loves it, and I’m beyond excited to have it,” said Tim Cooper, Lead Tactical Flight Officer at Pomona Police Department.
In addition to the MD500E, the Pomona Police Department’s aviation unit also operates a Bell 206 and an OH-6 Cayuse transferred under the Federal Government’s 1066 programme.
