An Omni Táxi Aéreo Airbus H160 was forced to perform a water landing (ditch) on the morning of 2 January 2026, with investigations now under way to identify the details surrounding the event.

The aircraft was leaving Cabo Frio Airport, and the circumstances of the ditching are currently unknown. However, all eight people onboard (two crew members and six passengers) evacuated safely using the inflatable life raft, and there are no reported injuries.

The Brazilian Navy’s Search and Rescue team was deployed to rescue the stranded occupants.
