International helicopter services provider NHV Group has announced the appointment of Laurent Verhelst as its chief financial officer. He will join the company later this month, taking over the role from Liesbeth Tielemans, who has been CFO since 2012.
Verhelst has more than 25 years of experience in senior positions with multinational organisations. Most recently, he was head of finance and IT for the Western Europe division of the Hilti Group, a supplier of tools and systems for the construction and building maintenance industries.
He joined Hilti from Stanley Black & Decker, where he worked for 17 years in various financial positions. Prior to that, he was at Dow Chemical and Paribas.
Verhelst will be a member of NHV’s Executive Committee and report to CEO Steffen Bay, who said: “I’m delighted to welcome Laurent to NHV. With his deep financial and international expertise, sound strategic capabilities and proven leadership, I’m certain that Laurent is the right person to continue providing a strong financial backbone and guidance.”
Verhelst commented: “I am thrilled to join NHV and very much looking forward to working closely together with its talented leadership team. NHV has unique strengths, a strong business model and a proud history. I am honoured by the chance to start leading its finance organisation, executing against the company’s long-term vision, and enhancing value for shareholders and all stakeholders.”
