MD Helicopters (MDHI) will have Oxford Police Department’s law-enforcement-configured MD 530F helicopter on display during the Airborne Public Safety Association’s annual APSCON show in New Orleans this week. The manufacturer will also be offering demonstration flights in its own MD 530F demo aircraft.

The Oxford Police helicopter can be seen on MDHI’s booth (#637) at the event. Based in Oxford, Alabama, the Oxford Police Department’s Aviation Support Unit (ASU) uses its MD 530F and a second helicopter to support ground officers and the Department’s Emergency Services Unit. The ASU also has mutual aid agreements with several other law enforcement agencies throughout central and eastern Alabama. In addition, it provides support to the FBI and other state and federal agencies.

Throughout the APSCON event, MDHI will be giving attendees the chance to fly in its MD 530F demonstration aircraft, which features the type’s enhanced glass cockpit. The avionics suite includes the Garmin G500 TXi EFIS, Howell Instruments EICAS and Garmin GTN 750 touchscreen GPS/NAV/COMM.

MDHI asks those interested in scheduling a demonstration flight at the show to contact its director of public safety sales, John ‘Jack’ Harris, by email at john.harris@mdhelicopters.com or phone on 614-205-0808; or its director of commercial and law enforcement sales, Jason Lindauer, at jason.lindauer@mdhelicopters.com or on 480-353-6587.
