Lilium has revealed that fuselage assembly for the first of seven prototypes destined for the eVTOL’s certification programme is underway at partner Aciturri’s facility in Valladolid, northwest of Madrid. When complete, the fuselage will be shipped to Lilium’s Wessling facility in southern Germany for mating with the rest of the aircraft, which the company expects to take place before the end of this year.

Commenting on the announcement, Klaus Roewe, CEO of Lilium, said: “This phase is more than just a technical step – it’s a clear signal to all Lilium stakeholders of our commitment to making regional air mobility more efficient, enjoyable, and sustainable. As we assemble the fuselage, we are also crafting a transformative flying experience while upholding our promise of unparalleled efficiency, comfort, and safety.”
