Leonardo and Petroleum Air Services of Egypt are reinforcing their collaboration in the helicopter services field. As an operator of AW139s with an eight-strong fleet, Petroleum Air Services is already a recognised service centre for Leonardo’s commercial helicopter products. This has been extended with the company’s appointment as an Authorised Service Centre, which, Leonardo said, will allow the addition of more services, greater spare parts management, and further solutions to benefit third-party customers and users.
As an operator, Petroleum Air Services has deployed AW139 helicopters in support of the oil and gas industry in the country since 2009. Since then, nearly 24,000 flight hours have been logged. The AW139 has proven a key asset for Petroleum Air Services, able to meet the most stringent requirements of OGP customers and perfectly suited for deep water operations. The AW139 has allowed the operator to further support expansion plans for offshore transport activities and exploration in the Eastern area of the Mediterranean Sea.
