Guardia di Finanza has received its first delivery of a newly configured AW169M light-intermediate twin engine helicopter. The Leonardo aircraft, which is specially configured to feature skid undercarriage, is the first of 24 AW169Ms to be delivered to the Italian Police Force by 2024.
The AW169M is one of eighteen helicopters with skid undercarriage, while the remaining six units will feature fix landing gear.
Joining its current fleet of 20 AW139s, Guardia di Finanza’s specially designed aircraft will be used for maritime patrol, homeland customs security, law enforcement, rescue and other security duties.
