Fractional ownership operator Flexjet has taken delivery of its first Sikorsky S-76 intended for its European helicopter operation. The move follows the company’s US operation, which launched last year also using S-76s. The European helicopter division, which will start operations in the UK market, will make it the first Private Jet operator to have an in-house helicopter capability.

While Flexjet says it plans to acquire a number of S-76s, a type that certainly seems to be enjoying a resurgence in popularity in recent months, it also intends to build up owned and managed operations using a fleet of AW109s and 169s.

According to Flexjet, customers on the ultra-long-range jet programme will benefit from complementary helicopter transfers to and from their jet at airports in London or the US operating regions to enhance their travel experience with a seamless ‘last mile’ solution.
