Tyler Technologies has been granted approval by the US FAA to use thinner wall tubing in the construction of its Tyler Special Operations Platform (TSOP) for use on Airbus H125s (AS350/355). As a result of the new design the weight of the platforms is reduced from 60lbs (27.2Kg) per side to 42lbs (19kg).
The benches are a quick fit option and can be installed in around three minutes and do not require any modification to the aircraft. The Los Angeles Police Air Support Unit has already taken delivery of the first of the lightweight benches.
