Entrol has announced the sale of a Bell 429 FTD Level 5 simulator to Meridian Helicopters in Townsville, Australia. This marks Entrol’s second Australian installation.

The simulator is scheduled for installation in the summer of 2025. Its features include a realistic cockpit design with Garmin GTN 650 and GTN 750 avionics, a cylindrical visual system with a 200ºx40º field of view, and advanced options such as a Forward-Looking Infrared Camera (FLIR) and vibration systems for a truly realistic feeling.

Claudia Calleja, Business Manager at Entrol, said: “This sale is a testament to Entrol’s dedication to providing high-quality training solutions tailored to the needs of operators like Meridian Helicopters. With this simulator, we continue to strengthen our presence in the Asia-Pacific region while supporting the development of highly skilled pilots.”

“With these exciting times ahead, we are looking forward to the installation of our Entrol FTD at our Head Office in Townsville, North Queensland,” commented Geoff Keir, Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Helicopters. “This state-of-the-art flight simulator will be the start of the North Queensland Aviation Centre of Excellence with the delivery of first-class Rotary Wing Flight Training. We look forward to working alongside the Entrol team as we expand further with multiple airframe types in 2025 and beyond.”
