Simulator OEM Entrol has entered the “back of the aircraft” training stage with the launch of the company’s mixed reality (MR) -based hoist operator station simulator. The company said the use of MR technology creates an immersive and realistic training environment that focuses on the ‘essential communication’ between pilot and hoist operator and that it can be fully integrated with their flight simulators to deliver a whole crew training environment. Furthermore, Entrol said the hoist operator simulator will allow a real-time interactive environment, allowing operators to train with real-world scenarios, including emergency situations, rescue operations, and other high-stakes environments. Including complex hoist manoeuvres and emergency scenarios such as engine failure or spinning cables.
