Kaman have announced that they are ceasing production of the K-MAX. The move comes as part of a wider company realignment of activities. As a result of the review the company has decided that continued production of the type “does not deliver the most compelling growth opportunity for Kaman”.

Over the two production periods 1991-2003 and 2017 to the present the company has produced 60 examples of the unique synchrocopter of which, around 40 remain in service world-wide. The company says that while it will cease production of the K-MAX and TITAN Un manned derivative, it will continue to support the fleet through the provision of spares, MRO and training solutions.
