Bristow has marked the end of 40 years of support operations in the Falkland Islands by Sikorsky S-61s with a tour of the islands. S-61s, operated by various contractors, have provided support services to the British Forces on the islands since the early 1980s. To mark the retirement of the type, Bristow carried out a tour of regular destinations on East and West Falkland, culminating in a flypast over the capital Port Stanley before returning to the Mount Pleasant airport base. The S-61s may be gone, but the sky over the islands will still reverberate to the beat of Sikorsky rotors as S-92s take on the role.
