Bell Textron have revealed they have delivered the 40th and final Bell 505 to the Republic of Korea (ROK) the aircraft together with the eight simulators supplied as part of the order will be used as train the next generations of helicopter pilots for the ROK Army and Navy.

“Bell has successfully met an aggressive timeline for delivering the cutting-edge Bell 505 training platform to the ROKA and ROKN in the aftermath of supply chain disruptions caused by covid-19,” said David Sale, managing director, Asia Pacific, Bell. “With a fleet of 40 Bell 505 aircraft and eight simulators, complemented by a comprehensive aftermarket support program, Bell remains committed to collaborating with DAPA and the ROK Armed Forces to ensure operational readiness with their Bell 505 fleet.”
Doubtless Bell will point to this programme as well as the type’s use by the a number of defence and civil forces including those of Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Montenegro and Iraq to bolster their position in the Flight School Next contract campaign which calls for a consortia of OEMs and Training providers to deliver training (and 200+ helicopters) to the US Army.
