CH-47 blade diagnostic and repair specialists and Boeing approved vendor, AvTask Inc has been designated an FAA certified repair station which allows both civil and US military (under a separate GSA contract) to access the company’s CH-47 blade repair services.
“FAA Repair Station approval allows us to expand our capabilities and support both military and commercial clients more efficiently, especially with the 2025 fire season underway,” explained Donnie Buchanan, Business Development Manager at AvTask. “Our blade repair process is engineered for longevity and field readiness.”
Although the repair station designation is new the company has specialised in blade repair since the early 1990s and since then has serviced thousands of blades for civil and military customers in the US and elsewhere.
“Our core success comes from proven technology focused on weight reduction,” says Jarrod Bax, Engineering Manager. “We use non-intrusive methods to remove water and oil. Each blade is weighed multiple times throughout the process to ensure every repair results in a lighter, more effective blade.”
“We’ve built a strong reputation as the one-stop shop for CH-47 blade repair and now our FAA Repair Station designation allows us to go even further,” said Joe Wilson, President of AvTask. “We can now perform in-depth repairs beyond the U.S. Army Technical Manual, and source FAA-approved replacement parts for commercial customers.”
