Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy has signed a three-year contract with the Armed Forces of Malta for AW139 pilot training. The deal is co-financed by Border Management and Visa Instrument and will use Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy’s new simulator.
The Thales AW139 Reality H Full-Flight Simulator Level D was officially inaugurated in April 2025 and is accompanied by a mixed-reality hoist trainer for search and rescue (SAR) training.
In a statement regarding the announcement, a spokesperson from Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy said: “As two island nations with strong maritime traditions, we share a deep understanding of the challenges and demands of operating in remote and dynamic environments. We are proud to continue this cooperation and strengthen the ties between our island communities through advanced helicopter training.”
