Archer Aviation has partnered with Future Flight Global (FFG) to assist in the deployment of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft services across global markets.
The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the planned purchase of up to 116 Midnight Aircraft, valued at up to US$580 million. This brings Archer’s indicative order book to $6 billion. FFG plans to make $5 million in pre-delivery payments upon the completion of definitive agreements regarding aircraft purchases.
“The aviation industry is on the cusp of its most exciting revolution in decades,” said Karan Singh, CEO and founder of FFG. “We’re partnering with Archer to provide tailored, flexible aviation services to our top clients in some of the world’s most exciting destinations. Midnight’s versatility makes it well-suited to diverse routes and mission profiles while also providing a world-class experience and operational efficiency that’s attractive to our corporate clients.”
With plans to launch air taxi services in Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, FFG aims to operate routes within Archer’s preexisting vertiport infrastructure network, with Signature and Atlantic Aviation as potential partners. It will also seek to deploy the Midnight aircraft for use as on-demand transit with high-value clients such as government members and hotel transfers.
“This new agreement opens up Archer’s global reach to premium international markets,” commented Andrew Cummins, Director of Business Development at Archer. “As our first private aviation partner, and with their deep ties in aviation and bold approach, FFG is positioned to be a new leader in modern aviation. Partnering with Karan and the team at FFG was an obvious choice and an ideal relationship for Archer.”
These orders remain conditional depending on the execution of further agreements and the meeting of certain conditions. They are estimated to cost $5 million per aircraft.
